I spend a lot of effort building the button so I can push it, and everything runs. For me, as a business owner is to create a business that then works for me that I don’t have to work for.
There’s a way to set yourself up for a promotion while you’re in the interview itself. My favorite way of doing that is to ask the person interviewing you, “How did you get where you are?” This does two things. 1) they share their path to success, and 2) they get a chance to mentor you and feel personally invested in seeing you succeed.
Do you want to know how to own a business that will never fail? Well, what is the thing that the Bible says never fails? Love, love never fails. And, if your business has love at the heart of it, you’ll never fail.
When you’re in business, you’re dealing with people. It takes a lot longer to deal with someone in love than it does in anger or out of selfishness, but it’s worth it.
I think every day, especially in a small business, it’s going to be a new unpredictable challenge. You have to have faith and heart to know that God’s got your back.
Something that I learned from my dad is that the man who’s most deserving of respect is the one who shows it to others even when they don’t deserve it.
