For some people, this season of dealing with the coronavirus is proving to be more of a challenge than just simply staying healthy. Some are facing job loss and a lack of adequate resources. Others are concerned that if this pandemic lasts too long, what limited resources they have will run out. In this episode of Getting Money Right, we’re sharing some resources that are available to you right now, insights to help you take what you have and make it last longer, and a challenge to remember that we’re better together, so let’s help each other get through this.

MAKE A FINANCIAL PLAN OR ADJUST YOUR CURRENT PLAN (BUDGET)

  • Make a list of all of your expenses: bills, and all essential needs. Spend on purpose!

  • Be brutal at cutting back or out any non-essential expenses.

    • If you can live without it, you can cut it out. Remember it’s only for a season, it’s not forever.

    • Ask before you spend: “Can I do without this right now?”

  • Continue saving if your stability fund is not fully funded. Save before you spend!

  • Track every expense to ensure you stick to your plan.

    • The single greatest thing you can do to have financial success, better than making more money or investing wisely.

    • Serves to reinforce and support the success of “your” financial plan.


Don’t stay stuck in your home, get outside….walk around the block, take a shower, go for a drive, spend time at the park (with appropriate social distancing), call a friend or family member and check in on them.
