GMR 100: Working Together - The Secret to Financial Success
Episode 100
There's a saying, "behind every great man there's a great woman." And though we would never claim to be great men, we would most certainly say that our wives are great. In this 100th episode of GMR, we've asked our wives, Natalie Sabo and Ashley Thompson to join us and to share their perspective on money, budgeting, and working together with us, hard-headed and quirky as we are, to make personal finances fun and beneficial.
Show Notes
Things you’ll hear in this podcast:
I think it’s so great that you were exposed to financial education early and that you made a commitment to learn about finances.
Being in a financial class open us to consistently getting great counsel from people who knew a lot more than us.
It was at that moment that I immediately dove further into savings because I knew that she would graduate from college with $24,000 in student loans.
Once the spending ended, the party ended.
When I heard the word budget, I thought of jail, and now when I hear the word budget I think of the freedom that we have.
You may have experienced someone trying to control you or manipulate you through the use of a budget, but I want to encourage you that if you can shift your mindset and to think of a budget as more like a fence, it will keep you safe and control free.
When you work together, you can accomplish your goals. Although you are different and you think about money different, it’s the differences that will help you find the right balance.
